6 Ways To Eat Satays!

6 ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO EAT SATAYS

If you are into Malay or Indonesian cuisine, you won’t need any introduction to Satays. A tasty dish, Satays are prepared with various kinds of meats. But saying that, before anyone claims to know everything about the dish, we think it is important to learn how to eat satay.

If you are used to eating satay in a simple way  i.e dipping it into peanut sauce like we did at our Tootoomoo tasting session, then here are a few steps you can incorporate so that you are prepared to enjoy eating satay’s in more creative ways.

1 Try the Madura Satay with curry and Basmati Rice. Madura Satay is prepared by marinating lamb or chicken in sugar and sautéing it with soy sauce, onions and salt.

2 Chicken Satay goes well with peanut dipping sauce. To make this the Chicken is cut, marinated, skewed to fit and cooked. See a live demonstration here

3 To add a hint of Veg to the equation, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Cucumber, Carrots and Cabbage can also be eaten with Satays.

4 You can also try Satay with thick and creamy Satay sauce.  Made from rich peanut and coconut and this sauce is common in Thai cuisine.

5 Want something a bit extreme? Try the burnt satay. Loved for its charred taste, the burnt satay has a different taste when consumed with peanut sauce.

6 Depending on your capacity to handle spice, you can Eat satay with Chili sauce.
