Acting out the tale of Tootoomoo at Coleridge Primary School

At the end of February, Tootoomoo visited Coleridge Primary School’s reception classes, to run a series of storytelling sessions. This was run by professional child educationalist, Vicci Parker, as part of Tootoomoo’s free schools programme.

Spanning 4 classes, the children enjoyed acting out the story of Tootoomoo:

Who was Tootoomoo?

There is a tale of a young girl called Tootoomoo who lived in a tiny house in a tiny village on the edge of an enormous forest. In the forest also lived the Giant.

Each morning the giant would enjoy a bowl of sweetened rice in Tootoomoo’s tiny house.

One day the Giant explained that he had grown tired of eating the same dish day after day.

Tootoomoo cooked through the night to prepare a feast for the Giant.

The next morning the Giant tasted all the dishes and was delighted as each dish was tastier than the last one.

Tootoomoo passed on her recipes. We now prepare inspired, tasty and healthy food for Giants and little people alike.

The children discussed their favourite meals with the class. They then drew their favourite meals, talking about the different ingredients that went into their food.

“My Mummy puts tomatoes and meat in her spaghetti bolognese.”

Thank you to Coleridge for inviting us, we look forward to working with you again soon!

Storytelling is just part of the programme that Tootoomoo offers to schools. If you are interested in finding out more about our tailor-fitted, free education programme, contact us at vicci@tootoomoo.com
